"Lioness Lea" C2C Square is a free crochet pattern that you can find right here, on My Hobby is Crochet blog!

Lioness Lea C2C Square

*Disclaimer: This post includes affiliate links and at no additional cost to you, I might earn a small commission if you decide to purchase through these links. Thank you! The yarn was provided by Red Heart Yarns. Crochet Hook provided by Furls Crochet.

I really love how this lioness c2c square design came out!

I must confess that I'm pretty proud of it! Actually I'm proud of all of my animal squares! :) I really love how my pixel art is coming to "yarn life"! :)

Lioness Lea C2C Square

GAUGE: 6 C2C tiles = 10 x 10 cm (4 inches x 4 inches)

SIZE: the square is 25 tiles x 25 tiles and measures 16 inches X 16 inches (40 cm x 40 cm)

SUPPLIES:

  • yarn: Red Heart Super Saver ( yarn weight: Medium 4) in 7 colors:
    1. Teal for the background approx. 169 yds (154.5 m)
    2. Black approx. 14.2 yds (13 m)
    3. Coffee approx. 10.4 yds (9.5 m)
    4. Warm Brown approx. 90.7 yds (83 m)
    5. Buff approx. 47 yds (43 m)
    6. Aran approx. 9.3 yds (8.5 m)
    7. Gold approx. 1.09 yds (1 m)
  • 5.5 mm crochet hook (shown here my Furls Wooden Hook, Cocobolo)
  • yarn needle
  • scissors

NOTES:
You will work the C2C square on the diagonal starting from bottom right corner to top left.

The even rows will be worked on the right side of work.

The uneven rows will be on the wrong side of work.

On the graphic you will read the even rows from top to bottom and the uneven rows from bottom to top !

You need to be aware that the first row with color changes will be an uneven row, so you will be working on the wrong side of work! That means that you will have to place the yarn strands to the front of your work!

For the even rows (right side) you will place the yarns to the back of the work!

Ones again: uneven rows = wrong side (WS), read the rows on graph from bottom to top ↗
even rows = right side (RS), read the rows on graph from top to bottom ↙
