Toddler Striped Brim Sun Hat - Free Crochet Pattern

To not repeat the previous post, I will only write here the changes made for the brim.

For the hat pattern please visit the link above and when you have to start working on the brim come back and continue with this brim pattern. Thank you!:)

Don't lose this pattern!

Striped Brim pattern:

The crochet stitch used for this brim is single crochet worked in both loops of the stitches, (we are not working anymore only with the back loops of the stitches as in my other brim pattern).

This brim it's made of 12 rounds. Your choice if you change colors as I did, or work entire brim in only one color.
(Tip for color change: A nice tutorial for joggles stripes when working sc in the round can you find by Needlenoodles; see method 2.)

I made a color change in each round: (first round green, second yellow, third white)* 4 times total, carrying the yarns from round to round, without cutting it. Maybe you'll prefer to cut the yarn, but i don't like to sew the yarn tails.:)

Each green round (for a total of 4 rounds) it is a round with increases (increase= 2sc in same stitch), each increase round to 16 stitches. The other color rounds are made without increases, working one sc in each stitch across.

Round 1
(with increases): ch1 tight, 1 sc in the same stitch and 1sc in each of the next 4 stitches, 2sc in next stitch, (1sc in each of the next 5 stitches, 2 sc in next stitch) * 15 times, sl st tight in the top of the first sc. (112 stitches)

Rounds 2 and 3
(without increases): ch1 tight, 1sc in the same stitch and 1 sc in each stitch across, sl st tight in the top of the first sc. (112 stitches)

Round 4
(with increases): ch1 tight, 1sc in the same stitch, 1sc in each of the next 2 stitches, 2 sc in next stitch, (1sc in each of the next 6 stitches, 2sc in next stitch)*15 times, ending with 1 sc in each of the next 3 stitches; join with sl st tight in the top of the first sc.  (128 stitches)

Rounds 5 and 6 (without increases) : ch1 tight, 1sc in the same stitch and 1 sc in each stitch across, sl st tight in the top of the first sc. (128 stitches)

Round 7 (with increases): ch1 tight , 1 sc in the same stitch and 1sc in each of the next 6 stitches, 2sc in next stitch, (1sc in each of the next 7 stitches, 2 sc in next stitch) * 15 times, sl st tight in the top of the first sc. (144 stitches )

Rounds 8 and 9
(without increases) : ch1 tight, 1sc in the same stitch and 1 sc in each stitch across, sl st tight in the top of the first sc. (144 stitches)

Round 10
(with increases): ch1 tight , 1sc in same stitch and 1 sc in each of the next 3 stitches, 2 sc in next stitch, (1sc in each of the next 8 stitches, 2sc in next stitch)*15 times, ending with 1 sc in each of the next 4 stitches; join with sl st tight in the top of the first sc.  (160 stitches)

Rounds 11 and 12 (without increases) : ch1 tight , 1sc in the same stitch and 1 sc in each stitch across, sl st tight in the top of the first sc. (160 stitches)

You've finished the brim!

I have used as embellishment a 3 layered flower, a free pattern by Rosehip.
