Polar Bear C2C Square - Free Crochet Pattern + Graph | Wildlife Graphghan CAL Block 15

Welcome to block 15 of the Wildlife Graphghan Crochet along! Only 5 animal blocks to go! I can't believe we came so far! :)

After the Baby Penguin (square no. 14), we are continuing the polar wildlife with the Polar Bear Corner to Corner Crochet Block! I think he turned out quite cute.

I would say that the Polar Bear c2c block is one of the easiest of this Crochet-along. There are not many color changes and till row 10 you will work in the main color only; same the last 7 rows.

For the muzzle I would have used a lighter grey, but that was the lightest I had available. If you find, you could use the shade "Light Grey" - Red Heart Super Saver Yarn, instead of Dusty Grey. :) Let me know in the comments what you think!

The Polar Bear C2C Square it's a free crochet pattern that includes written row by row instructions for color counts follow with color pixel graph below.

For detailed instructions and video tutorials for the corner to corner method with the half double crochet used + crisp color changes, check out the Wildlife Graphghan CAL Page!

  1. I just wanted to say how much I loved your graphs. You are very talented and they look so life-like. Thank you for making them free.

  2. Hello, I enjoy reading all of your post. I
like to write a little comment to support you.

  3. Is there a easy way to make this bigger? I would like to make this a blanket rather than just a square for a blanket. Thank you

    1. Sorry for the late reply! I just saw your comment. You can make it bigger by adding more background color block around the bear. You could either draw by hand or use an editor like Stitch Fiddle.

  4. How can I put this chart into You Doodle? I am planning to make several pillows as gifts and that would make it easier. I haven't ever used You Doodle. Just learned about it from you. Thanks for these beautiful patterns. This will be my first time doing C2C

    1. Hi Paula, I don't know what You Doodle is, I'm using Stitch Fiddle. To print the graph out, you can save the graph image by mouse right clicking, option "Save image". Onces saved to a file on your PC, you can print it out.

  5. Hello! Just curious if there would be any way to make this bigger? Wanting to do the poor bear as a queen size blanket. Thank you.

  6. Please, where can you get this yarn in UK as it says online only available in US and Canada?Would you know if there is a similar yarn with as many colours that we can use in UK? This will be my first time C2C crochet and looking forward to getting started.Thank you

    1. Hi,I live in Germany and buy Red Heart Super Saver yarn online from Amazon.

  7. Half way done with the polar bear and just realized I have been using a DC stitch instead of a HDC. So my end result is going to be much bigger. But it still looks great. Thank you so much for sharing your amazing patterns. Can wait to start the next one. (Will it be giraffe or Panda?) Also wondered if you have ever tried a moose. Would love to see one of those.

    1. I'm glad you enjoy it! A moose head will not fit into such a small square.

  8. I just finished using the written directions and I believe row 24 is incorrect as I ended up with 2 white squares instead of 2 Aran squares. Should row 24 read as t4, w4, dg, A2 (not W2) .....?

  9. thank you! I think you are correct
