Starlight Toddler Slippers - Free Crochet Pattern with Tutorial
The Starlight Toddler Slippers are cozy crochet slippers made with a playful variation of the star stitch, creating a soft and textured fabric that is perfect for little feet. This free crochet pattern is designed for toddlers and includes detailed written instructions, along with step-by-step photo support and a video tutorial for the star stitch used in this design.
Originally designed in cheerful rainbow colors, these slippers are a great way to use up scrap yarn — but they look just as lovely worked in a single solid color or any custom color combination you choose.

- ch 3, insert hook into 2nd ch from hook, pull up a loop;

- insert hook into first st, pull up a loop;
- insert hook into 2nd st, pull up a loop;

The next star stitches:
- Insert hook into ch 1 on top of start stitch just made, pull up a loop;
- insert hook under the 2 bars of last spike of the star just made, pull up a loop;
- insert hook into same stitch where last loop of previous star was made, pull up a loop;
- (insert hook into next st, pull up a loop) x 2 times
- having 6 loops on hook, yo and pull through all 6 loops on hook;
- ch1 to close the star stitch.
You will need 2 rounds/rows to complete full stars: one round/row of star stitches and one round/row of hdc sts.
Notes
Color change: The color change for the star stitch will be made at the end of the hdc rows; work the last hdc of the row till half , having 3 loops on hook, join next color and finish the hdc with the new color.
Each stripe will be made of 2 rounds: one round of star stitch and one round of hdc sts.
If you choose to work the slippers without color changes, you will cut the yarn only after finishing the round 10 to hide the seam at the back of the work (under foot). Then start working in rows as in the pattern indicated.

Very cute pattern, Ive never done Star stitch but love that you offer a tutorial with the pattern. I am hoping to make a miniature version since my granddaughter would like a tiny pair for her doll.
