Blanket Sizes & Project Ideas

The Wildlife Animal Blocks are designed to be mixed and matched. Each finished block measures approximately 16 x 16 inches (40 x 40 cm) when worked in the hdc C2C box stitch.

  • 4 blocks – baby blanket
  • 6 blocks – toddler blanket
  • 9 blocks – lap blanket
  • 12–20 blocks – full-size blanket or graphghan

You can also use individual blocks to create C2C pillows, decorative panels, or wall art.

How to Crochet the Wildlife Animal Blocks

All Wildlife Animal Blocks are specifically designed for the hdc C2C box stitch, also known as the mini C2C stitch. This stitch creates clean, square pixels that are essential for accurate animal shapes.

If you are new to C2C crochet, don’t worry — I’ve created a complete learning resource with:

  • ✔️ step-by-step written instructions
  • ✔️ color change tips
  • ✔️ sizing and layout guidance
  • ✔️ a full video tutorial

Join-As-You-Go Option (JAYG)

For crocheters who prefer a seamless construction, I have created a Join-As-You-Go (JAYG) C2C method.

This method allows you to crochet and join the animal blocks as you go, resulting in a blanket that looks as if it were made in one continuous piece.
