Pointed Petals Flower | 6 Petals Crochet Flower | Free Crochet Pattern and Video Tutorial

This flower is a newer variation of my Blackberry Flower , but with 6 pointed petals instead of 5 for a fuller look.
You can use any yarn and matching hook size. Thinner yarn will create smaller, delicate flowers, while thicker yarn will give you larger, more textured results.
Finished Size
Approximately 3.2–3.5 inches (8–9 cm), depending on yarn and hook used.
Gauge
Gauge is not critical for this project.
Materials
- Medium weight (Category 4) cotton yarn in 2 colors:
- Color A: flower center
- Color B: petals . I have used various colors of Drops Paris yarn and Lion Brand 24/7 Cotton yarn.
- 3.5 mm crochet hook
- Yarn needle
- Scissors
Stitches & Abbreviations (US Terms)
ch – chain
sc – single crochet
sl st – slip stitch
tr – treble crochet
yo – yarn over
Repeats:
(...) repeat as indicated
[...] repeat as indicated
*...* repeat between asterisks
Special Stitch
tr4tog (treble cluster):
Work 4 unfinished treble crochets in the same space, leaving the last loop of each on the hook. You will have 5 loops on the hook. Yarn over and pull through all loops.

Flower Instructions
Flower Center:
With Color A, ch 4 and join with sl st to form a ring.
Ch 4, *(sc in ring, ch 3)* repeat 5 times.
Join with sl st to first ch.
Fasten off.
Note: Beginning ch-4 counts as (sc + ch 3).
Petals:
Join Color B in any ch-3 space.
First petal:
Ch 4, tr4tog in same space, ch 3, sl st to top of cluster, ch 4, sl st in same space.
Next petals:
*Sl st to next ch-3 space, repeat petal instructions.*
Repeat around (6 petals total).
Join with sl st.
Fasten off and weave in ends.
