You can use this wolf corner to corner crochet square together with all the other animal squares of the Wildlife Graphghan to make a lovely blanket or make this square only and turn it into a pillow case. Kids and adults alike will surely love it. It would make a great Father’s Day Gift as well!

SUPPLIES

  • Yarn: Red Heart Super Saver ( yarn weight: Medium 4) in 7 colors:
    1. Light Blue for the background approx. 92.4 yds (84.5 m)
    2. Soft White approx. 56.3 yds (51.5 m)
    3. Dusty Grey: approx. 39.9 yds (36.5 m)
    4. Black approx. 19.7 yds (18 m)
    5. Grey Heather approx. 100.6 yds (92 m)
    6. Buff approx. 31.7 yds (29 m)
    7. Gold approx. 1.09 yds (1 m)
  • 5.5 mm crochet hook, shown here Furls Wooden Hook, Cocobolo
  • Tapestry needle
  • Scissors

GAUGE

6 C2C tiles = 10 x 10 cm (4 inches x 4 inches)

SIZE

the square is 25 tiles x 25 tiles and approx. measures approx. 15 inches X 15 inches (38 cm x 38 cm)

NOTES:

  1. You will use the C2C with the hdc, working the square on the diagonal starting from bottom right corner to top left.li>
  2. The even rows will be worked on the right side of work.
  3. The uneven rows will be on the wrong side of work.
  4. On the graphic you will read the even rows from top to bottom ↙ and the uneven rows from bottom to top ↗!
  5. By my previously published animal squares, the color changes have started after several rows worked in the background color. By the grey wolf you will start changing colors already in the 3rd. row. Use bobins/ small yarn balls for each color section.

  1. is there another way to create these squares? I did a practice c2c hdc with one yarn and I really messed up with the decreasing. I had to do some creative crocheting to actually get it to look like a square?
    I watched the video, but don't know what I did wrong. I'm hoping it will go better with the wolf square.

    1. You could work in horizontal rows with sc bobbles; it looks awesome as well, very sharp images. You would need to read the graph differently, in rows, starting from bottom edge to top edge.
